Johnson & Johnson Institute Simulates “Hands On” Learning at a Distance

How to train safely with COVID-19 restrictions

The Johnson and Johnson Institute developed an effective method to train safely at a distance to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Each “simulator in a box” is shipped to teaching hospitals in a compact transport case with hygiene guidelines for using the technology in a safe manner. The Johnson & Johnson Institute also provides a “train the trainer” remote session to help medical educators optimize the simulator’s use to support their learning objectives.

“One of the impacts of this pandemic is that it has encouraged us all to reexamine the status quo and challenged us to discover new and better ways of training and educating the surgical community,” said Tim Mauri, Director of Technology & Innovation for the Johnson & Johnson Institute. “The potential to expand our work with SIMENDO is a great example of this.”
